You're All White

I don't know what it is about white but I cannot get enough of it at the moment.
Maybe it's the smell of a gloriously sunny and warm weekend looming.
Maybe because it screams luxury, peace and parisian chic?

Even my bedroom is having a white out phase at the moment.
I don't know about you, but to me there's nothing cozier than getting into a bed full of fluffy, white doona's, sheets and blankets.
Which brings me to my next point...

Nothing looks quite so inviting as an unmade bed.
Especially if it's white.

I love white so much that to the woodstock-themed party I am attending this weekend, I plan on wearing a white floral garland on my head amidst the black lace bell bottoms, sky-high boots and burnt velvet kimono. I totally made the garland myself too, no biggie.. only wish they were peonies :(

Photos to come.

Holy Smoke!

I think smoke makes some of the most fascinating shapes I have ever seen.

Mystical, yet absolutely disgusting, poisonous and beautiful.

Who would have ever thought there would be so many juxtapositions in one smelly, grey cloud.

So I purchased a cow skull...

It's slowly disintegrating, is full of cobwebs and my cat is afraid of it. But I want to make it into something brilliant.

I wish it was a ram skull, trust me but the one I found was spray painted hot pink, was half the size and cost an extra $130! They were dreaming.

I have lots of ideas that require rope, distressed wood & spray paint.

I have had this baby in my possession now for about a month and it's still sitting outside in the box I brought it home in. I promise it will be finished and wall-hang-worthy as soon as I have a weekend which isn't full of birthdays.

I cannot promise my cat that it won't eat him in his sleep.

Mondays for days

Just a bit of Monday inspiration for things that haven't yet been created, except for in the walls of my own mind.

Oh, hi. Um.. hope you haven't been standing there long.

Well, Hi.

I find the start of a new blog is always the most awkward. I hope that by pointing out how awkward my words may come out that it will in turn burn out any awkwardness...

Welcome to Jess & Jenna.

We're 2 girls who have boring 9 - 5 office jobs who aren't really sure what it is we actually want to do with our lives, however we know we want to do something creative. We don't have a lot of money, we don't have amazing wardrobes, certainly don't drive fancy cars but we feel we have enough uniqueness in our taste to (hopefully) entice somewhat of a following.

So this is the beginning of what we hope will be something big, but it could just as easily be something extremely insignificant (fingers and toes that it is the former).

From what inspires us, to what we wish we could afford, to the places we hope one day our ideas will take us and our mini projects which we hope people like enough to purchase and put in their homes. You'll see it all here.

In closing, I found a quote the other day on Tumblr (yes, guilty.. I'm a total blog-addict) which I feel best describes what you will most likely see on these electronic pages.

"I see beauty where others see ugliness. That either makes me an artist or a person of very poor taste"
